This class combined with the 2 hour Film class may count for ENGL 1102, but this is NOT policy. The extra hour can be used towards HUM credit.

I have taken a course called FAMST 46, which primarily focused on film and media analysis with a large essay complement. I have created a separate evaluation for this class. I have also gotten a 5 and a 4 on AP English language and literature respectively. UCSB did not have any direct equivalent for transfer because no English class had more than 4 quarter credits but I do know the material and have experience with the material in 1102. I would like to work with the department to see if there is a way i can earn credit for 1102 considering the work I have done.

Is there a way to combine this course with another writing intensive course to get credit for English 1102 because it is on the quarter system?

UC-Santa Barbara is on a quarter-hour system - 4 qt. hours = 2 semester hours. ENGL 1101/1102 is 3 credits. Therefore, this course cannot be equivalent to a 3-credit hour course.
