This course, Programming 1 (CSC-H113), is the first in a two-course Java sequence that introduced foundational programming concepts: variables, loops, conditionals, functions, and basic object-oriented principles like classes and methods. While this course alone covers part of the material in Georgia Tech’s CS 1331, it was followed by Programming 2 (CSC-H229), which continued with more advanced object-oriented concepts including inheritance, polymorphism, file handling, and GUI applications — topics that align closely with CS 1331’s objectives. I am submitting this syllabus first due to the upload limitations, but I’d like to clarify that both courses were taken together and should be evaluated as a sequence. Additionally, I later took CSE 2050: Data Structures and OOP at UConn (and earned an A) which reinforced my basic data structures, Big "O" run-time analysis, searching and sorting algorithms and OOP proficiency.
