Over the course of my undergraduate journey, I’ve completed Discrete Mathematics twice — first at Naugatuck Valley Community College (MATH 2611), and again at the University of Connecticut (CSE 2500: Introduction to Discrete Systems). I earned strong grades both times and later served as a Teaching Assistant for CSE 2500 (Discrete Math Course) in Spring 2025 after earning the highest grade in my class during Fall 2024. These two courses together covered the foundational topics in Georgia Tech’s CS 2050 course, including: • Logic and set theory • Proof techniques (strong induction, contradiction, direct, contrapositive) • Functions and relations • Combinatorics and counting principles • Recursion and basic graph theory As a TA, I supported students weekly through problem-solving sessions and grading, and helped reinforce key theoretical concepts. I’ve attached both the official UConn syllabus and the TA offer letter to support this. My instructor, Dr. Elham Sherafat, can be contacted directly at elham.sherafat@uconn.edu for verification. Given my academic performance, depth of understanding, and teaching experience in this subject, I respectfully ask that my request for CS 2050 credit be approved.
