Dear Faculty, I understand that this course is listed on the transfer credit equivalency table, but I would like to request a re-evaluation, as the current listing may not accurately reflect the scope and rigor of CS106B. If more information or context is needed, the archived website for the Summer 2023 term can be found here - https://web.stanford.edu/class/archive/cs/cs106b/cs106b.1238/ I believe that Stanford's CS106B should map out to CS1331 or CS1332 as it effectively covers all the material of CS1332 (Data Structs. and Algorithms) while still providing a comprehensive review of OOP for CS1331. The only difference to note would be that CS106B is taught in C++ rather than Java. As I've learned from my advisor, CS1331 credit equivalency relies on a Java-based class, but I would argue that utilizing C++ in a course like CS106B prepares you for object-oriented programming in Java. Additionally, I believe that completion of CS 1030 or a credit-equivalent (e.g., AP CSA) could provide sufficient foundational knowledge of Java, bridging any language gap. Given this coverage, I would ask that CS106B be re-evaluated to provide credit for CS1331 or CS1332. Thank you for your time and consideration, Rami Naji
