Possible LMC or HUM credit?
2025-07-15 17:30:19 - David Evanson Markwood <dmarkwood3>
Dear Registrar, As requested, I am submitting a 20+ page writing sample for departmental review toward ENGL 1102 credit. While my course emphasized literary interpretation and analysis, this extended research project demonstrates my ability to construct evidence-based arguments, integrate multimodal research, and synthesize findings into a long-form academic paper. This project was developed for an independent science research competition, and includes formal sections (introduction, literature review, methods, results, conclusions), statistical modeling, and evaluation of complex texts and data. Please let me know if any additional documentation is needed. Best regards, David Markwood

If ENGL 1102 credit cannot be granted, would it be possible to apply this as additional credit toward ENGL 1101 in the event that COM 121 alone is insufficient? Thank you.

Hi, This course is being submitted for ENGL 1102 credit. Compared to COM 121, this course placed less emphasis on formal writing and more on the interpretation and evaluation of significant texts, with a focus on literary analysis. This was the most relevant writing sample I could provide, I’ve attached a literary analysis essay on 1984 that I completed as part of the course. Best, David Markwood

For the department to review for ENGL 1101 or 1102 credit, please attach, upload and send back to R1 writing samples you completed for this course. If you are seeking other Humanities or LMC credit, then please respond letting us know of that.

Dear Evaluator, I am submitting this master syllabus for a course I completed through dual enrollment with Reading Area Community College (RACC). The courses for which I received dual enrollment credit were taught at my high school by certified instructors, following the College Board AP curriculum. While the credit was awarded through RACC, the instruction was not delivered by RACC faculty, and section-specific syllabi were not provided. As a result, I do not have access to individualized weekly schedules or instructor-specific documentation. To ensure I provided the most complete materials possible, I contacted RACC directly to request more detailed records. They confirmed that they do not retain section-specific syllabi or weekly topic schedules. The attached master syllabus is the only version available. It includes course topics, learning objectives, credit hours, and prerequisites, and applies to all sections of the course. I understand that Georgia Tech prefers syllabi with detailed weekly breakdowns. Unfortunately, such documentation is not available in this case. I appreciate your understanding, and I hope this submission will still be acceptable for departmental review. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Sincerely, David Markwood
