I have already reviewed Georgia Tech’s transfer credit equivalency table. However, I believe that the table contains an error. CSC 280 from Moraine Valley should be transferred as CS 1332, not CS 1301. This course is not equivalent to Georgia Tech’s Intro to Computing course. CSC 280 covers data structures and algorithms, and it aligns closely with the content and rigor of CS 1332 – Data Structures and Algorithms. I would like to formally dispute the current equivalency and request a re-evaluation. At Moraine Valley, CSC 280 is only available to students who have completed CSC 240 – Advanced Computer Science. The two courses differ significantly in terms of difficulty and depth. However, CSC 280 has been evaluated the same way as CSC 240, both being transferred as CS 1301 – Intro to Computing, which I believe is inaccurate. I kindly ask for a re-evaluation of CSC 280 and an update to the transfer credit equivalency table.
